The speculations surrounding MS Dhoni's IPL career is never ending. Recently there were reports that MSD will play as an uncapped player in the IPL, and now CSK CEO, Kasi Viswanathan has answered all the queries.

IPL 2025 is set to have rule changes will have significant impact on the league. One rule which the BCCI is likely to introduce is the uncapped player rule, which states that any international player who has retired five-years ago from the game is eligible to play in the IPL as an uncapped player.

'I have no idea': CSK CEO on MSD's future in IPL

The rule was originally used in the inaugural season, but since then it hasn't been used. Talking about MS Dhoni as an uncapped player, Kasi Viswanathan stated that they have no idea about it, and the CSK franchise has not requested anything to BCCI.

"I have no idea about it - we have not requested it - BCCI have themselves told us that the 'uncapped player rule' maybe kept, that's all - they haven't announced anything yet," as quoted by TOI.

According to the current IPL rules, an uncapped player can cost upto INR 4 crore. So, having MSD playing at this price will benefit the franchise, as they will retain the core of the side, and will have more money to spend elsewhere.

MS Dhoni, has himself remained silent, but has stated that he will decide his future after considering the rules for next season.
