Hardik Pandya was at the centre of criticism in IPL 2024, and was booed on almost everywhere he went during that IPL season. Jasprit Bumrah, the Indian fast bowler was part of that Mumbai Indians team and now in the Express Adda arranged in Ahmedabad, the pacer has revealed how the team dealed with the constant booing of their captain.

Bumrah stated that one has to accept things that are not in once control and and added that inner circle helps in such situations. The fast bowler also made it clear that the team members were not in support of what was happening against Hardik and they all were behind him and supported him. He added that the narrative changed after they won the T20 World Cup and it is all part of the journey.

"You have to take it on your chin. That’s where the inner circle comes in. We, as a team, don’t encourage that, we don’t promote that. We don’t think that’s warranted. We were with him (Hardik), talking to him, if he needed support. Certain things are beyond your control. If it happened, it happened. The narrative just changed, when we won the World Cup. This is part of the journey. It’s us against the world. We will try to give as much support as we can."

People Driven By Emotions - Jasprit Bumrah

The Mumbai Indians pacer also revealed that in India, people are driven by emotions and it does affect the player if his or her own countrymen go against you, but reckoned that one has to take things in strides and move on as it is not possible to stop everyone from speaking their mind.

"We live in a country that’s driven by emotion. Fans get emotional and players are also emotional. It does affect that you’re an India player and sometimes your own fans are not speaking well of you. But it is the way it is. You’ve got to take it on your chin because how can you go out there and stop people?"

Both Hardik Pandya and Jasprit Bumrah played big roles in India's victorious T20 World Cup campaign and would be crucial players for India in the upcoming Champions Trophy as well.
