New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon spent time playing street cricket with underprivileged children during his diplomatic visit to Delhi. Luxon was also accompanied with New Zealand cricketers Ross Taylor and Ajaz Patel along with India’s 1983 World Cup winning captain Kapil Dev.
The New Zealand Prime Minister shared pictures of the same on his social media accounts, where he can be seen batting, bowling and even fielding at first slip from the time when Taylor was on strike.

On Wednesday, March 19; New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon shared pictures of his Delhi trip on his social media accounts. While he made a diplomatic visit to the capital to meet Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Luxon also found time to play street cricket with some underprivileged kids, all while being accompanied by Kapil Dev, Ross Taylor and Ajaz Patel.

Christopher Luxon also joked about Team India’s 2025 ICC Champions Trophy win over New Zealand in the final during his meeting with Narendra Modi. Luxon stated that he was glad that Modi did not bring up New Zealand’s defeat in the final during their interaction.
The New Zealand PM congratulated the Indian team for winning the title in Dubai, and called Rohit Sharma’s troops the “most dominant side in the world”.
For the unversed, the ‘Men in Blue’ clinched the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy in Dubai earlier this month. After topping the Group A stage of the tournament with easy wins over Bangladesh, Pakistan and New Zealand, Rohit Sharma and co. walloped Australia in the semifinals and edged past the ‘Black Caps’ in a hard-fought finale.
