IPL 2025 is all set to commence on March 22, with defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders taking on Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the opening match of the cash-studded league. All preparations are in place, and Eden Gardens is decorated to host the first game.

However, the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) is experiencing slight trouble with the IPL 2025 schedule as they have officially contacted BCCI to postpone KKR's match against LSG on April 6. Earlier, there were reports that the Kolkata police had contacted CAB informing them of the lack of police force on April 6 because of the occasion of Ram Navami.

However, the CAB were looking at possible solutions to the problem until in the latest development, CAB president Snehasish Ganguly spoke to BCCI and asked them to take a call on the April 6 fixture against LSG because of lack of security.

“We had long discussions with the authorities and the police where they made it clear that it won’t be possible to provide adequate security due to the festivities, despite it being a day fixture. We have now requested the BCCI for rescheduling, and hopefully, we will have clarity over the next couple of days,” CAB president Snehasish Ganguly told Sportstar from Kolkata.

The report also mentioned that the BCCI is also finding it tough to postpone and is looking for a new venue for the LSG vs KKR match. It is worth noting that it is not the first time that the CAB has faced such an issue, but they also have a similar problem in IPL 2024.
