On Saturday, March 8, Mumbai Indians dealt a big blow as their star seamer Lizaad Williams was ruled out of IPL 2025 after an undisclosed injury. Further, the five-time winners also announced South Africa's Corbin Bosch as his replacement.

The Proteas seamer rose to fame in recent times after he made his international debut in December 2024 against Pakistan and took wickets and scored runs with the bat. Further, Bosch took 11 wickets for MI Cape Town in SA20 2025, which helped the Men in Blue win their maiden SA20 title.

Now a new controversy has erupted on social media as it came to everyone's knowledge that Bosch has already earned a contract for PSL 10 with Peshawar Zalmi. What happened is that Bosch registered for IPL 2025 mega-auction at a base price of 30 lakhs but went unsold.

He later signed up for PSL drafts, where Peshawar Zalmi, which also features Babar Azam, roped in Bosch in the diamond category, the 2nd biggest category in PSL drafts. Now with injury, MI roped in Bosch, leaving him with two contracts, one from PSL and IPL.

Now it is certain that Bosch will have to forego one deal, and the question is which one would it be? This article will shed light on why Bosch might turn down MI's contract.

Why Corbin Might Prefer PSL Over IPL?

It is worth noting that Bosch would earn 30 lakhs for the upcoming season in IPL as he registered at a base price of 30 lakhs. However, in PSL, since he was selected in the diamond pick, the salary ranges from around 60-80 lakhs in Indian Rupees for a player picked in the diamond category.

Thus, Bosch would have earned double his IPL salary in PSL if he plays for Peshawar Zalmi than Mumbai Indians. But if Corbin Bosch prioritises tougher challenges and exposure to a bigger stage, he would choose MI.
