Umran Malik IPL career​

Umran Malik made his IPL debut with Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in 2021 as a replacement player. His evident pace soon made him one of the most thrilling fast bowlers in the competition. 

During the IPL 2022 season, he impressed everyone with his raw pace, consistently reaching speeds above 150 km/h and taking 22 wickets in 14 games, for which he was awarded the Emerging Player of the Season award.

He continued with SRH in 2023, but his performances dipped, leading to him being benched for several games. Ahead of the 2025 IPL season, he was bought by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) during the mega auction.

As of the 2025 IPL season, Umran Malik was contracted to play for the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). He was sold to KKR for a marginal price of INR 75 lakh. KKR then named left-arm seamer Chetan Sakariya as his replacement for the season.
