The IPL 2025 is all set to kickstart from March 22 and the excitement around the marquee event is increasing with each passing day with KKR taking on RCB. That game will be played at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata in front of the full house, but now serious doubts have been raised over the April 6 clash at the ground between KKR and LSG.
CAB Contacts Sport Minister For Security Arrangements
According to a report from India Today, Kolkata Police has expressed their inability to provide adequate security arrangements for the April 6 game due it coinciding with religious festival of Ram Navami. In 2024 too, the game in Kolkata was rescheduled due to similar issue, but this time around the authorities are eyeing a viable solution.
The report also states that Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) officials have contacted Sports Minister, Aroop Biswas. The minister on his part has promised to find out a solution of the problem in collaboration with Kolkata police as the rescheduling the fixture could prove to be a logistical challenge.
New Captain For KKR And LSG In IPL 2025
Kolkata Knight Riders are the defending champions and they have recently appointed Ajinkya Rahane as their full-time captain with Venkatesh Iyer named vice-captain. LSG too have a new captain this season with the franchise buying the star Indian wicketkeeper at record price of 27 Crore.
The tournament final will be played on May 25 which will also be played at the Eden Gardens while Qualifier 2 will also be at the same ground.
