Tanzim Hasan Shakib, the Bangladeshi pacer, has been sidelined for the final ODI against Sri Lanka due to injury. In his place, Hasan Mahmud will join the team for the final ODI.

After clinching victory in the first game, Bangladesh suffered a setback in the second match against Sri Lanka, leading to a tied series. Tomorrow's third and final ODI in Chattogram holds the key to determining the series winner. The hosts, Bangladesh, are eager for redemption after conceding the T20 series to Sri Lanka.

Tanzim Hasan Shakib sustained a hamstring injury during a training session at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium on Sunday. This injury occurred after he strained his hamstring during the first ODI, where he couldn't finish his ninth over and had Soumya Sarkar step in. Despite this setback, he returned to the field and even took a catch. But, he didn't exhibit any signs of discomfort during the second game.

The absence of Tanzim will be a major setback for the hosts, given his crucial contribution in the first ODI that led to Bangladesh's victory. Tanzim's ability to swiftly capture three wickets played a decisive role in breaking the backbone of the Sri Lankan batting order.

Taskin Ahmed and Shoriful Islam, who were part of the pace attack alongside Tanzim in the first two ODIs, are expected to maintain their positions for the final game. Additionally, Bangladesh boasts the presence of CSK pacer Mustafizur Rahman in the squad, adding further depth to their bowling options.

Bangladesh had dropped Litton Das because of his poor form since world cup and added wicket keeper batter Jaker Ali to squad.

Sri Lanka is also facing injury concerns, with Dilshan Madushanka injured his hamstring. As a result, he will be sidelined for the initial matches of his franchise, the Mumbai Indians.
