In a significant setback for Sri Lanka, Dilshan Madushanka has been ruled out of the final ODI of the ongoing three-match series against Bangladesh. The left-arm pacer sustained a left hamstring injury during the second game in Chattogram, being unable to complete his full quota of overs.

Madushanka's unfortunate injury is a massive concern for Sri Lanka as they gear up for the decider scheduled at the same venue on Monday.

The pacer was in prolific form, putting up impressive performances in the first couple of games. Opening the bowling for Sri Lanka, Madushanka emerged as a headache for the Tigers' top order, claiming four wickets at a superb average of 18.50.

In his absence, the visitors might rope in seam bowling all-rounder Chamika Karunaratne to spearhead the pace department alongside Lahiru Kumara and Pramod Madushan.

If a dry surface is dished out in Chattogram, the Lankans might consider going with an extra spinner instead, thus giving an opportunity to Akila Dananjaya, who warmed the bench in the previous fixtures.

However, their batting unit is expected to be the same, with Avishka Fernando opening the batting with last game's centurion, Pathum Nissanka, followed by the formidable quartet of Kusal Mendis, Sadeera Samarawickrama, Charith Asalanka and Janith Liyanage.

Spin bowling all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga, who weaved his magic with the ball in the second ODI, will be slotted at number seven, with the bowlers following him.
