Litton Das, one of the most celebrated batters in Bangladesh has been dropped from the national squad for the third and final ODI against the visitors Sri Lanka at Chattogram. Jaker Ali who was impressive in the T20I series against the Lankans has replaced the wicketkeeper batter.

Das who has captained Bangladesh in the past will play in the Dhaka Premier League to regain his form as he as he could not manage a single run in the first two ODIs he played against the Lankans. He has not been in great form since the start of the 2023 World Cup in India and has mustered only 313 runs in 14 ODIs at an average of just 24.07.

Jaker Ali who has replaced Litton Das has a List A average of 34.87 and is a middle order batter, so is unlikely to make his debut as their are already openers like Anamul Haque and Tanzid Hasan waiting in the wings. As far as the series is concerned, it has been quite an entertaining one with Bangladesh winning the first one and Sri Lanka staging a comeback in the second game.

The decider is scheduled to be played on 18th of December which will be followed by a two-match Test series.
