India’s Asia Cup 2023 Group A clash against Pakistan lived up to its hype before rains prevented the entirety of second half’s play.

For starters, Shaheen Afridi jolted India’s star-studded batting line-up early by knocking over captain Rohit Sharma and number three Virat Kohli. Haris Rauf soon joined the party to reduce the ‘Men in Blue’ to 66-4. Hardik Pandya and Ishan Kishan later formed a counterattacking 138-run partnership to set up a competitive total for their team.

Unfortunately for fans, rains prevented the launch of Pakistan run-chase in the evening, thus allowing both teams to walk away with a point each.

Amidst all intensity and competitiveness that unfurled during the Indian innings, fans from both sides were graced with a heartwarming moment on part of Pakistan all-rounder Shadab Khan.

Amidst Ishan Kishan and Hardik Pandya’s rescue act for India, the latter of the two got his shoelaces untied while running between the wickets. Pakistan fielder Shadab Khan offered his help and tied up the shoelaces for the Indian all-rounder.

Khan’s sweet moment of gesture quickly went viral across social media. Several netizens appreciated Pakistan vice-captain’s act of kindness, as it symbolised the friendship between players from both camps despite their fierce and storied cricketing rivalry.
