Jay Shah received the Sports Business Leader of the Year Award
The BCCI is known to be one of the strongest boards in the sport of cricket. Jay Shah was appointed as the secretary of the BCCI in 2019 following his tenure as the joint secretary of the Gujarat Cricket Association before joining the BCCI. He has been awarded with the Sports Business Leader of the Year 2023.
With an eventful year in the cricket world considering the happening of the World Cup 2023 and ACC Asia Cup 2023, Jay Shah was one of the key players of the governing bodies, who made both events successful.
He has been serving as the secretary of the BCCI since 2019 and was appointed as the president of the Asian Cricket Council earlier this year. For the first time in the history of cricket, BCCI got the opportunity to host the entire World Cup in India and it turned out to be an amazing event.
Even for Jay Shah, it was the most happening year, as BCCI hosted the ODI World Cup 2023 and being the president of ACC, the Asia Cup 2023 was organised and even the inaugural Women's Premier League made its way into the women's competitive cricket in the year 2023 only.

The World Cup 2023 turned out to be the greatest ICC event in the history of cricket with a record attendance of 1.25 million and a record-breaking viewership of over 518 million. The team India lost the final as Australia won their sixth World Cup title. Jay Shah became the first leader in Indian sports, who get this recognition from the Confederation of Indian Industry.
