Jalal Yunus, the chairman of cricket operation and director of Bangladesh Cricket Board has resigned from his position with immediate effect. The decision comes in light of political changes in Bangladesh after a major student protest and ouster of Awami League government.

The interim government has taken over in Bangladesh which is being led by Muhammad Yunus and since then, there have been changes expected in the BCB, the governing body of cricket in Bangladesh. The director is the first person to resign though and it could be followed with the resignation of BCB president Nazmul Hasan.

Women's T20 World Cup 2024 Set To Be Moved Out Of Bangladesh

The current political situation in Bangladesh has been a bit of a setback for BCB and Bangladesh cricket as a whole. The Women's T20 World Cup that was scheduled to be played in the country in October is all set to be moved to another location because of security issues

Bangladesh cricket team is currently in Pakistan for the two-match Test series but had to arrive few days earlier than scheduled due to the problems in their nation. The first Test is set to start on 21st of August, while the second Test will begin on 30th of August. Both the games will be played in Rawalpindi and are part of the WTC cycle 2023-25.
