Bangladesh To Host Pakistan For 3-Match T20I Series In July; Full Schedule Confirmed

In the latest development, Bangladesh will host Pakistan for a 3-match T20I series. The tour will commence on July 20 in Mirpur. Interestingly, the two sides collided in as many T20Is in Pakistan and will once again lock horns with each other in a riveting battle. All the matches will be played at one venue - Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium, Mirpur.

The last time these two teams met, Bangladesh were at the receiving end of a whitewash and the Tigers will be aiming for a revenge as Pakistan will travel for the series in order to prepare for the T20 World Cup which will be played in India, next year.

The conditions in Bangladesh will mimic the same playing conditions the two teams will get in India during the T20 World Cup and hence, the series will provide a perfect opportunity to get used to it.

What happened the last time these two teams met

The two teams last met in May-June and Bangladesh were taken apart by the hosts, Pakistan. The three matches took place in Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore and Pakistan were the superior side as they defeated the Tigers in a one-sided battle across the three matches.

Bangladesh hardly put up a fight and allowed the hosts, Pakistan to run away with the series with ease.

Both the teams tottering in T20I rankings

After the series loss against Pakistan, Bangladesh slipped down to 10th position in the rankings. Before the series, they were ranked ninth but an embarrassing series loss led to their downfall in T20I rankings.

On the other hand, Pakistan sit at the 8th position having being average in the last two years in the format. Another series win will help them climb the ladder in the rankings.
