Akbar Ali to lead Bangladesh in Hong Kong Sixes

Bangladesh reached the semi-finals of Hong Kong Sixes last year but lost to Sri Lanka in a close contest. This year, with a bigger aim, the BCB announced a balanced squad for the tournament scheduled to be played from November 7 to 9 at the Tin Kwong Road Recreation Ground in Hong Kong.

The team will be led by Akbar Ali who captained Bangladesh in the ICC U19 World Cup 2010 triumph, the nation’s only major ICC title. Akbar who became famous for his calm temperament is expected to be crucial for Bangladesh’s Hong Kong Sixes 2025 campaign. In the fast-paced six-over format the blend of experience and youthfulness is required to lead the team, and Akbar Ali is known to be an effective captain already.
