Bangladesh fast bowler Nahid Rana has pulled out of his team’s upcoming three-match T20I tour of Pakistan. New fielding coach James Pamment and strength and conditioning coach Nathan Keily will also not be travelling to Pakistan for the series.
The Bangladesh cricket team, currently in the UAE, is set to face Pakistan in a three-match series between May 28 and June 1. While the tour also initially featured ODI matches, the two boards mutually agreed to make it T20I exclusive in light of next year’s 2026 T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka.
Nahid Rana pulls out of PAK tour for THIS reason
According to Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) cricket operations chairman Nazmul Abedeen Fahim, fast bowler Nahid Rana might have pulled out of Pakistan tour owing to the difficult situation he faced in the country during the PSL 2025 season.
It is worth noting that Rana was part of the Peshawar Zalmi franchise alongside star Pakistan batters like Babar Azam and Saim Ayub. However, during Pakistan’s escalating border tensions with India earlier this month, Rana was among the many overseas players who faced a difficult time while trying to get out of the country.
Meanwhile, Rishad Hossain, who was also in Pakistan at the time, is still travelling to Pakistan alongside the rest of his Bangladeshi colleagues for the T20I series.
Nonetheless, the Bangladesh cricket team, led by Litton Das, will face Pakistan in the series opener on Wednesday, May 28. The match will be hosted by the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
The venue will also host the remaining two games on Friday, May 30 and Sunday, June 1 respectively.
