On Sunday afternoon, India concluded their practice session at Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) ahead of the fourth Test against Australia. However, the pitch offered to them had variable and low bounce and was more suitable for white-ball games. Meanwhile, pitches with grass and good bounce were kept hidden under the wraps.

The Border-Gavaskar Trophy has reached the most crucial phase. With the five-game series levelled 1-1, India will face Australia at Melbourne Cricket Ground for the fourth Test starting from December 26.

Meanwhile, team India had an important practice session at MCG earlier today. The whole team spent hours sweating in the nets.

However, the pitch provided for practice raised suspicion of a conspiracy. The pitch that Indian players practiced on had variable bounce and absolutely no help for the bowlers. Moreover, Rohit Sharma took a blow to his knee and had to halt his session for close to 30 minutes.

Meanwhile, according to TOI, the MCG had other practice pitches that stayed under the covers until India wrapped up their net session. Apparently, those pitches had much more to offer for the bowlers. However, the visitors weren’t allowed to even take a peak.

With Australian players yet to kick off their practice, it remains to be seen the kind of pitches they will be offered. But one thing is certain that used pitches from India’s net session won’t be used again.

The MCG weather is hot at this time of the year and hence, a high scoring Test is expected to play out on the eve of Boxing day. However, with disparity in practice pitches, allegations against Australia for being biased has begun to get momentum.

The fourth Test will commence from December 26 to December 30. The series remains levelled 1-1 after rain forced a draw in Gabba Test.
