In the build-up to the fourth Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), India's budding cricketer Akash Deep has become the latest target of Australian media. For the past two days, Channel 7 (A local Australian media house) has been having issues with various Indian cricketers, in what can be touted as mind-games.
Virat Kohli And Ravindra Jadeja Troubled By Australian Media
Firstly, Virat Kohli hogged the internet after he had an altercation with reporters at the airport, where the former India captain was unhappy with the reporters filming his kids. While Virat demanded privacy, the Australian media house claimed it was a public space, and they were allowed to film him.
Limits were crossed on December 21 when Ravindra Jadeja held a small press conference after a practice session and only answered in Hindi, a language, he is comfortable with. However, Channel 7 made a big deal out of it and accused the Indian cricketer of ignoring Australian reporters and not speaking in English.
Akash Deep Accused Of Ignoring Australian Media
In the latest events, Akash Deep is also being targeted on the same lines where he also held a presser and only answered in Hindi, again a language he is comfortable with. Meanwhile, Channel 7 uploaded a video on their YouTube channel titling it 'Indian cricket team refuses to speak with the Australian media.'
Interestingly, the Indian media has bashed the dirty tactic of Australian media as they also highlighted how Indian reporters asked questions on behalf of Australian reporters, which was also mentioned in the video.
"Bharat Sundaresan asked a question today and your media house also asked one via an Indian journalist present there. Rubbish reporting," tweeted Subhayan Chakraborty.
Interestingly Akash Deep shone in the Gabba Test, where he took wickets and most importantly stunned Australia with a show with the bat to avoid follow-on.
