Legendary Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin is reportedly in talks to feature in Australia’s Big Bash League (BBL) later this year. The report indicates that Cricket Australia CEO Todd Greenberg has personally reached out to Ashwin after the seasoned all-rounder confirmed his retirement from IPL cricket a few days ago. With Ashwin’s retirement from international and IPL formats, he is now eligible to take part in overseas T20 leagues. Speaking with Cricbuzz, Greenberg expressed his excitement over the prospect of getting Ravichandran Ashwin to embrace the league by playing in Australia.
Virat Kohli Opens Up On RCB Stampede Tragedy
Legendary Indian batter and RCB zealot Virat Kohli has finally opened up on the deadly stampede incident that took place a day after the team’s IPL 2025 victory. Celebrating the historic occasion at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, overcrowding of fans outside the venue led to a stampede that took the lives of 11 RCB fans, injuring over 70 others. As posted by RCB on their social media accounts, Virat Kohli expressed his condolences for the affected families, and stated that the incident will forever remain a part of “RCB’s story”.
Jordan Cox Gets A T20I Recall For Ireland Series
England’s dynamic wicketkeeper-batter Jordan Cox has earned a T20I recall for the upcoming three-match T20I series against Ireland in Dublin later this month. Jordan played the last of his two T20Is for England back in September last year against Australia. He has also not played a single international match since England’s ODI series against West Indies the following month.
Jordan Cox recently plundered 367 runs in just nine innings of The Hundred 2025 season for the Oval Invincibles franchise at a prolific batting average of 61.16.
Sikandar Raza Becomes Number 1 All-Rounder
Zimbabwe legend Sikandar Raza leapfrogged Afghanistan cricketers Azmatullah Omarzai and Mohammad Nabi to become the number one ranked all-rounder in ICC ODI rankings. Courtesy of Sikandar’s ascension, both Omarzai and Nabi lost a rung each to slip to number two and number three respectively on the latest ICC charts. The 39-year-old Zimbabwe cricketer currently holds 302 rating points after blasting twin half-centuries against Sri Lanka. Bangladesh’s Mehidy Hasan Miraz and New Zealand’s Michael Bracewell occupy the fourth and fifth slots to cap the top five rankings.
Litton Das Achieves Huge Bangladesh T20I Record
Bangladesh T20I captain Litton Das punched out an attacking 73 from just 46 balls against Netherlands in the third T20I of the three-match series in Sylhet. While the match turned out to be a rain-marred no result, Litton soared past former skipper Shakib Al Hasan to record the highest number of fifty-plus scores for Bangladesh in T20I cricket. The attacking right-handed batter now has 14 fifty-plus scores to his name in T20Is, while Shakib recorded 13 in his career.
