In a phenomenal achievement, Litton Das broke Shakib Al Hasan's record, registering the most number of fifty-plus scores for Bangladesh in T20 Internationals. The experienced batter unlocked the landmark during the ongoing encounter against the Netherlands at Sylhet International Stadium.

After winning the toss, Netherlands skipper Scott Edwards opted to bowl first. However, his decision backfired on the visitors, with Litton Das tormenting their bowling attack with scintillating stroke play. 

The opening batter, who clobbered a blistering half-century in the series opener, extended his purple patch, playing another flamboyant knock ahead of the Asia Cup. Litton brought up his half-century in 27 balls, surpassing Shakib Al Hasan for the most scores of fifty or more for Bangladesh in the shortest format.

Meanwhile, the talismanic trio of Mahmudullah, Tamim Iqbal and Mushfiqur Rahim follow the decorated duo on the list. 

Although rain resulted in a brief interruption in the match, Litton Das didn't lose his momentum, showcasing remarkable skills on the batting-friendly surface. His batting exploit, comprising six fours and four towering sixes, has powered the hosts past the 100-run mark at a brisk run rate. As of writing, Bangladesh were 102 for two in eleven overs, with Litton and Shamim Hossain batting on 65* and 12*, respectively.
