Domestic star Jordan Cox has been rewarded for his extraordinary form across formats this summer with a recall to the England Men’s IT20 squad for their upcoming three-match series against Ireland in Dublin. The 24-year-old wicketkeeper-batter joins a youthful squad led by Jacob Bethell, who is set to become England’s youngest-ever men’s captain.
Jordan Cox, who has already played five T20Is for England since making his debut against Australia in Southampton last year, returns to the international fold in peak form. His dominant displays in domestic competitions, including the Vitality Blast and The Hundred, have underlined his growing reputation as one of the most dangerous batters in white-ball cricket.
A Breakthrough Summer For Jordan Cox
The Essex star has enjoyed a remarkable run in 2025. Earlier this month, he was named Player of the Tournament in The Hundred after guiding his side to a title win. His campaign was highlighted by an unforgettable unbeaten 86 off 29 balls, which showcased his ability to change the course of games with power and flair.
Cox earlier showed his form in the T20 Blast, where he played one of the most destructive innings in the competition’s history. Against Hampshire, he blasted an unbeaten 139 from just 60 balls, striking 11 fours and 11 sixes in a record-breaking run chase. That knock not only sealed a dramatic win for Essex but also cemented Cox’s status as one of the most explosive batters on the domestic circuit.
With senior Test stars rested for the trip, selectors have placed their faith in emerging talent, and Cox’s inclusion reflects his consistency and ability to rise on big occasions. The three-match series in Dublin begins on September 17 at Malahide, Dublin and will give Cox the platform to continue his exceptional form on the international stage.
