Are Babar Azam, Rizwan's Pakistan Out Of WTC 2025 Final Race? Here's The Scenario

Pakistan's chances of reaching the 2023-25 World Test Championship (WTC) final have been severely dented after their shocking 10-wicket loss to Bangladesh in Rawalpindi.

This defeat not only marked a historic low for Pakistan’s first-ever Test loss to Bangladesh but also continued their disappointing run in the WTC cycle.

Pakistan, currently ranked eighth out of nine teams, has managed only two wins from six matches. Their current points percentage of 30.56% places them just above West Indies, who are at the bottom with 18.52%.

If Pakistan is to keep their hopes alive for the WTC final, they will need a dramatic turnaround in form and results in the upcoming matches.

Can Pakistan Still Qualify For WTC 2025 Final?

Pakistan's hopes of reaching the 2025 World Test Championship (WTC) final are still alive, but their path is difficult and fraught with challenges.

With eight Test matches remaining, the Men in Green theoretically has the opportunity to turn their campaign around. If Pakistan manages to win all of their remaining Tests, they could achieve a win percentage of 70.24%, which would likely put them in contention for the WTC final.

Pakistan will next host England and West Indies, followed by a challenging away series against South Africa.

Moreover, Pakistan's chances are also dependent on the performances of other teams, particularly India and Australia, who are currently the frontrunners to reach the WTC final.

If India wins eight of their remaining 10 Tests, Pakistan would be unable to surpass their points tally. Similarly, if Australia wins six of their remaining seven Tests, they would be guaranteed to finish above Pakistan.
