Amanjot Kaur scored a swift 21 from 18 balls in the fifth T20I, forging a match-defining partnership with captain Harmanpreet Kaur in the process to help India Women mount 175-7 in 20 overs. The 25-year-old also picked up the important wicket of Sri Lanka’s number three and well-set half-centurion Imesha Dulani at a crucial stage of the game to claim figures of 1-17.
While her initial all-round show went unnoticed during the post-match presentation ceremony, Amanjot Kaur hogged the spotlight in the dressing room, albeit for her fielding excellence throughout the five matches against Sri Lanka Women.
For picking up three sharp catches in the series and making some stunning boundary saves, Amanjot Kaur won the ‘Best Fielder’ of the series medal, as announced by India Women head coach Amol Muzumdar.
