India Women batted first and lost five of their top six batters around the halfway stage of the innings at 77, with in-form opener Shafali Verma making just five and teenage debutant Gunalan Kamalini getting trapped in front for a run-a-ball 12.

Captain Harmanpreet Kaur led her side from the front, smearing 68 from 43 balls with nine fours and a six and forging a counterattacking partnership with Amanjot Kaur (21 off 18). Arundhati Reddy blasted 27* off just 11 balls with four fours and a six to add finishing touches to the innings as India Women mounted 175-7 in 20 overs.

For Sri Lanka, ace spinner Kavisha Dilhari picked up a couple of important wickets at an expense of just 11 runs in her two-over spell. Rashmika Sewwandi (2-42) and captain Chamari Athapaththu (2-21) also chipped in with two scalps each in their combined seven overs.

Bowlers unite to stop Perera rampage as India sweep 5-0

Sri Lanka opener Hasini Perera got her team off to a flier with a calculated 42-ball 65, despite losing senior partner and captain Chamari Athapaththu for just two in the second over of the run-chase to Arundhati Reddy (1-16). Imesha Dulani at number three also clattered 50 runs off 39 balls to lead Sri Lankan command early in the innings.

However, following her dismissal to Amanjot Kaur (1-17), the entire Sri Lankan line-up crumbled and managed to reach just 160-7 in 20 overs, thus falling 15 runs short to hand India Women a comprehensive 5-0 series sweep. Each of the six Indian bowlers employed by captain Harmanpreet Kaur ended up taking a wicket each to demonstrate a complete team effort.
