Ayush Badoni Breaks Chris Gayle's Six-Hitting Record With A Breathtaking Knock In DPL 2024

Young Indian batter Ayush Badoni had a memorable outing with the bat, as he smashed 165 runs off just 55 deliveries for South Delhi Superstarz in their DPL 2024 clash against North Delhi Strikers on Saturday afternoon. 

He hammered eight fours and nineteen sixes, breaking Chris Gayle's record for the most sixes in a T20 match. 

Notably, Gayle clobbered 18 sixes during his whirlwind knock for Rangpur Riders in their BPL 2017 final encounter against Dhaka Dynamites.

Opening the batting for the Riders, the Universe Boss struck 146 runs off only 69 deliveries. However, Ayush Badoni went past his tally of sixes when he hit the nineteenth maximum of his innings.

South Delhi post a massive total vs North Delhi in DPL 2024

Batting first, South Delhi Superstarz had a shaky start to their innings, losing the valuable wicket of Sarthak Ray in the third over. 

However, a whopping 286-run stand between Badoni and Priyansh Arya brought their innings back on track, powering them to a formidable score. 

While Badoni contributed 165 runs, Priyansh Arya slammed 120 runs off just 50 deliveries. The swashbuckling southpaw set the stage of fire, becoming the first player to hit six sixes in an over in the DPL 2024. 

Riding on their unbelievable batting performances, South Delhi Superstarz posted 308 runs on the board and overtook SRH's 287/3 to record the second highest team total in a T20. 

As of writing, North Delhi Strikers were tottering at 36 for two, with Yajas Sharma batting alongside Yash Dabas.
