Less than a week remains before IPL franchises submit their retention list to the BCCI ahead of the IPL 2025 mega-auction set to take place in the last week of November.

The preparations for the auction are in full swing and there are a few big names rumoured to be going under the hammer. Notably, Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer are two stars touted to be coming to the auction.

Talking about Pant, the Delhi Capitals star is reported to just play as a player in the upcoming season as the management wants to take the pressure away from Pant. However, many believe that Rishabh would not stay at DC just as a player and might shift his base ahead of the upcoming season.

Meanwhile, Pant has been rumoured to join several leading franchises. Thus, this article will shed light on the three teams that have been rumoured to buy the southpaw in the upcoming auction.

1. Chennai Super Kings

CSK have been rumoured to be the frontrunners to sign Pant as they are looking for a long-term replacement for MS Dhoni, who might have played his last or still play a season.

Nonetheless, Chennai are looking for a keeper and a potential candidate to replace Dhoni. While the CSK CEO has not commented on these rumours, It is to be seen whether Pant will be seen in yellow for IPL 2025.

2. Lucknow Super Giants

According to TOI, Lucknow Super Giants have also kept a keen eye on Pant as they are also looking for a captaincy material in the auction. Notably, there are rumours that KL Rahul is unhappy with LSG and would not sign retention contract with the club following the altercation he had with the owner in IPL 2024.

Since KL Rahul is looking for a new base, LSG are looking to keep Rishabh Pant as an option who can keep wickets and lead the side going forward .

3. Royal Challengers Bengaluru

According to a report from TimesOfIndia, there are reports that they are looking for a replacement for Dinesh Karthik, who played his last for RCB in IPL 2024 and will be seen as the batting coach for the three-time finalists.

Further, the rumours of Pant going into the auction table intensified after he posted a tweet asking his fans where he should go if he entered the auction table.
