On Wednesday, August 14, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) released the squads for the upcoming Duleep Trophy starting from the first week of September. 

The likes of Shubman Gill, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and Shreyas Iyer will feature in the upcoming four-team tournament. However, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, who were reported to feature in the Duleep Trophy, were not named in any squad, which came as a shock to their fans. 

Twitter was buzzing after the squad announcement, as the fans were upset over the missing names of their favourite stars. A section of fans were also upset as to why Virat and Rohit got a special exemption to not feature in domestic cricket, but other players have been asked to do the same.
