Nonetheless, India have a lot at stake as they are eyeing a spot in the WTC finals. There were reports that India have asked for a rank-turner track for the 3rd Test. Thus, let's look at the ground stats at the Wankhede Stadium in Test cricket.

Abhisek Nayar Clears The Air On Wankhede Pitch

There were rumours that India have asked for a rank-turner for the Mumbai Test. Meanwhile, India's assistant coach, Abhishek Nayar cleared the air and remarked that they do not curate the pitch.

“I wish we could curate pitches, but we don’t. The curators do. Whatever we’re provided with, we go on and play. We don’t try and get conditions according to what we want,” Nayar said.

The Mumbai match will be India's last Test at home in 2024.
