On Saturday, Royal Challengers Bengaluru will lock horns with Chennai Super Kings in the 68th group-stage match of the ongoing Indian Premier League season.

Led by Ruturaj Gaikwad, the Super Kings have blown hot and cold in the competition, winning seven of their thirteen group-stage matches.

On the other hand, the Royal Challengers made a remarkable comeback after a disastrous start, winning five games on the trot and taking their tally to 12 points.

With both teams set to conclude their group stage with this high-octane face-off, it's likely to become a knockout fixture.

As KKR, RR, and SRH will likely claim the top three positions in the points table, the winner of the RCB vs CSK game could be the fourth entrant into the IPL 2024 playoffs.

What if RCB vs CSK gets abandoned due to rain?

Meanwhile, rain looms large over the much-anticipated match between the archrivals. With weather.com predicting 70-80 per cent precipitation, we shouldn't be surprised if the game is abandoned.

If it really gets called off, both teams will earn a point each. That will take CSK to 15 points in the standings, leaving RCB behind at 13 points.

In that case, the Super Kings will proceed to the playoffs, while the campaign will end for the Royal Challengers.

Even if SRH lose both their matches, RCB would be desperate for a win against CSK to get 14 points under their belt. RCB can't afford a washout against CSK under any circumstances, as it will lead to their group-stage elimination.
