Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the quest to seal their spot in the playoffs of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 will be playing at home against the already eliminated Gujarat Titans (GT) at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad on Thursday, May 16.

SRH, who currently sits 4th on the table would book their tickets for the playoffs with a win tonight and can also potentially finish in the top 2 if they win both of their remaining matches and the result from the RR v KKR game goes their way. So, they will take on GT will all to play for.

On the other hand, the Titans will want to end their season on a high note with some pride on the line. They find themselves 8th on the points table with just 5 wins and a washed out game. In their final game of the season, they will surely go in with a hope to spoil the party for the Sunrisers.

They last faced off in match 12 of the ongoing season and here's how it panned out.

When SRH and GT Last Faced Off

After winning the toss, the travelers, SRH decided to bat first in Ahmedabad. In the afternoon game, they started the innings well, scoring 56/1, courtesy of 19*(7) from Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head's 18*(12).

However, Noor Ahmed and Mohit Sharma bowled a few tight overs to put resistance to the scoring rate after the powerplay. They just conceded 34 runs in the next 6 overs before Heinrich Klaasen took off followed by Abdul Samad.

Klaasen and Samad scored 24(13) and 29(14) respectively in their cameos, taking SRH to 162/8 after some hiccups in the middle overs. Sharma led the GT bowling attack with 3/25 in his four overs. Noor, Umesh Yadav, Azmatullah Omarzai and Rashid Khan chipped in with a wicket each.

The chase turned out to be a routine effort as they comfortably finished the match with 5 balls and 7 wickets spare. David Miller looked good for his unbeaten 27-ball-44, Sai scored 45(36) and Gill scored 36(28). Pat Cummins, Mayank Markande and Shahbaz Ahmed took a wicket each in their failed attempt to restrict GT under 162.
