Virat Kohli wishes Sunil Chhetri on retirement

Legendary batter Virat Kohli, on May 16, shared his heartfelt wishes for football icon and India’s highest international goal-scorer Sunil Chhetri after the latter set his retirement date from the sport. Taking to social media, Kohli wrote:

“My brother, proud.”

Apart from being the absolute legends of their respective fields, Virat Kohli and Sunil Chhetri also share an excellent companionship with each other.

Moreover, Sunil is also an Indian cricket fan and has often described himself as a fan of Virat Kohli-famed Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) franchise in IPL. Back during IPL 2023 season in India, the two dynamic personalities met each other at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium ahead of RCB’s home game against Mumbai Indians.

Virat Kohli, meanwhile, is currently plying his trade for RCB in the ongoing IPL 2024 season. Having tallied over 650 runs from just 13 innings, the 35-year-old is leading the season’s run-scoring charts and is the current recipient of the coveted ‘Orange Cap’.

Kohli and the rest of his RCB colleagues will now go up against defending champions CSK in their final league game of the season. The much-awaited contest will be staged in Bengaluru on May 18.
