Ace batter Shashank Singh recorded a rare failure in the IPL 2024 as Avesh Khan trapped him plumb in front of stumps for a silver duck in the ongoing face-off between Punjab Kings and Rajasthan Royals in Guwahati. 

The incident occurred during the fifth over of the Kings' innings when they had already lost two quick wickets.

Thus, Sanju Samson, who registered a failure earlier with the bat, showcased his tactical brilliance yet again in the tournament. His on-field call to bring Avesh worked wonders, with the speedster claiming two crucial wickets on his very first over. 

After Shashank's departure, PBKS lost another huge wicket in Jonny Bairstow, who perished for a sloth-paced 22-ball 14. 

Chasing a modest 145-run total, the visitors were down on the mat as of writing, placed at 63 for four in ten overs as of writing.
