SL vs WI 3rd ODI: Sri Lanka Eye Whitewash While West Indies Aim Renaissance

Under Charith Asalanka's astute leadership, Sri Lanka have been absolutely magnificent in the home series against West Indies. After swatting aside the visitors via DLS method in a rain-affected game, the Lankans extended their purple patch with a clinical five-wicket win in the subsequent match.

Skipper Asalanka has led from the front with the bat alongside promising opener Nishan Madushka, Sri Lanka's second most successful batter in the series. However, the hosts would like better returns from Avishka Fernando and Kusal Mendis, who have yet to step up with the bat. Meanwhile, the eyes will also be on Wanindu Hasaranga, as the seasoned campaigner has weaved his magic with the ball in the middle overs.

Meanwhile, West Indies have been heavily reliant on Sherfane Rutherford, the most successful batter in the series. Amid frequent top-order collapses, Rutherford has held the fort for West Indies, scoring crucial runs in two consecutive matches.

Gudakesh Motie has also been impressive, showcasing his all-round exploits. However, barring these two, there's not much to talk about from the visiting side, with the lack of a collective effort pushing them down on the mat in the series. So, this game is West Indies' final chance to redeem themselves and conclude the series on a high note.
