In a significant development, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced the men's squad for the upcoming second Test against South Africa. Led by Najmul Hossain Shanto, Bangladesh had a horrendous start to the series, losing the opening match in Dhaka by seven wickets.

No Place For Taskin Ahmed In Bangladesh Squad

The hosts have left ace speedster Taskin Ahmed out of their team for the second Test, replacing him with Khaled Ahmed. Taskin didn't feature in the opening encounter in Mirpur, and Khaled's inclusion will certainly boost their bowling unit.

In 15 matches, Khaled has scalped 28 wickets with a best figure of 5/106. However, he didn't have a great time in the India Tests, going wicketless in his four overs.

Apart from skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto, the experiened duo of Mushfiqur Rahim and Litton Das will spearhead Bangladesh's batting. Meanwhile, the Tigers will once again depend on their spinners to succeed, with Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Taijul Islam playing a key role with the ball.

Bangladesh Seek Revenge In 2nd Test

The first Test was forgettable for Bangladesh, as the visitors crushed them by seven wickets in Mirpur. Kyle Verrynne's sparkling century powered South Africa to a respectable first innings total before their bowlers showcased remarkable skills, bowling Bangladesh out for 307 runs.

In response, South Africa chased the paltry target easily, with Tony de Zorzi and Tristan Stubbs playing crucial knocks. So, considering the second Test is a must-win clash for them, the hosts must be desperate to bounce back and level the series.
