Pakistan’s hard-hitting radical Iftikhar Ahmed got the taste of his own medicine as his part-time off-breaks was greeted with a couple of huge sixes from Peshawar Zalmi number three Haseebullah Khan.
Iftikhar was employed by his Multan Sultans skipper Mohammad Rizwan to bowl the eighth over of the innings in their latest PSL 2024 bout against Peshawar at the Multan Cricket Stadium. The 33-year-old all-rounder leaked 17 runs in his opening over, with Haseebullah inflicting much of the damage while his skipper Babar Azam enjoyed the spoils of his six-hitting carnage from the other end.
Peshawar Zalmi’s young number three batsman Haseebullah Khan made his way to the crease in the fourth over of the innings following the early dismissal of opener Saim Ayub. The 20-year-old cricketer shared 46 runs together with captain and opening batsman Babar Azam for the second wicket to take his side past the 50-run mark.
During the course of their partnership, Haseebullah belted Multan Sultans’ part-time spinner Iftikhar Ahmed with two huge sixes in a space of just four deliveries in the latter’s opening over of the innings.

Haseebullah Khan was eventually cleaned up by Usama Mir after the youngster had already clubbed a rapid 18-ball 37 from his end. Babar Azam also made his way back to the crease with a calculated 31 to his name.
Their dismissals in quick succession hampered Peshawar Zalmi’s run-flow during the middle overs of the innings, before Rovman Powell upped the ante in the slog overs.
