West Indies will be facing Afghanistan in the 40th match of the T20 World Cup 2024. This game will be played at the Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium in Gros Islet, St.Lucia, West Indies.

This match is of little significance to the Super Eight scenarios, as both teams have qualified. West Indies have played decent cricket in the tournament. Their performances have gradually bettered through the course of the tournament.

West Indies will be hunting for their fourth win on the group stage and carry the momentum into the next round. Most of the team has looked on song in the tournament, and there will not be much scope for the management to make changes to the game.

However, the opener, Johnson Charles, has not found rhythm in the tournament. He has scored two ducks and a 44 against Uganda in the tournament. Rovman Powell might look to switch things around and bring in Shai Hope in his place. Charles's inconsistency has made their top order look brittle, and the solidity of Hope might be a boon for the co-hosts of the World Cup.
