The Adelaide Pink-Ball Test between Australia and India is done and dusted inside 2.5 days, and the home side have inflicted a crushing defeat to the Indian team. Outplayed in Perth, Australia bounced back in style and won the Test by 10-wickets to level the 5-match series.

India batted first in the match and scored a combined 355 runs in their two innings as their batters had no answer to the hostile Australian bowling attack. For Australia, it was Travis Head once again who stood tall and made life difficult for the Rohit Sharma led side.

The explosive batter scored 140 off 141 balls as he tormented the Indian bowlers and seemingly took them out of the match. It won't be an understatement to say that the visitors had a horrendous showing and we have jotted down 3 key reasons why they suffered a humiliating loss.

3) Rohit Sharma's poor captaincy

Jasprit Bumrah showed the world how an aggressive captaincy can change the fortunes of a match as he led the team from the front in Perth. As a leader, he was always on his toes and made some brilliant bowling changes, but the same cannot be said about Rohit Sharma.

On Day 2 of the Adelaide Test, Bumrah scalped the quick wickets of Nathan McSweeney and Steve Smith to bring India back in the contest. However, to everyone's surprise, Bumrah only bowled 4 overs in the entire first session and was not brought into the attack for a second spell before lunch.

With him out of the attack, the pressure eased up on Australia as they started scoring freely to put the pressure back on India. Also, when Harshit Rana was taken to the cleaners, captain Rohit didn't approach the bowler to calm him down as Head made a mockery of the KKR pacer.

2) The Travis-Headache issue continues

Travis Head Vs India across formats is the best love story of this decade. He scored a blistering ton against them in the WTC finals last year, and followed it up with a match-winning century in the 50-over World Cup.

He continued the onsluaght against the Indian bowlers as he once again slammed a quick-fire century and was the difference maker between the two sides. India and Australia play so often, and yet, neither the captain, nor the bowlers have been able to figure out a way to dismiss the explosive Australian batter. While all the others were dismissed rather easily, the Travis Head issue continues to give headache to the Indian side.

1) Batters surrendered in tough situation

The Indian side has plethora of big names in their side, but none of them stood tall as they crumbled like a pack of cards in both the innings. A 21-year-old Nitish Kumar Reddy outshined the experienced batters in both the innings as he scored 84 runs in the Adelaide Test match.

The likes of Virat Kohli, and Rohit Sharma, who are big names in the world of cricket failed against the Australian pace trio as the Indian team had no answer to the brilliance of Pat Cummins, Mitch Starc and Scott Boland.
