Quetta Gladiators crashed to a 79-run larruping to table-toppers Multan Sultans in the final league game of the ongoing PSL 2024 season.

The defeat hampered their chances of securing a top-two finish, and they will now face Islamabad United in the all-important Eliminator clash at Karachi’s National Stadium on March 15.

Ahead of their much-awaited stalemate, here is a look at the entire probable playing XI of the Quetta Gladiators franchise.

Quetta Gladiators, having finished fourth on the PSL 2024 points table, will face third-placed Islamabad United in the Eliminator at Karachi.

For the all-important match, Gladiators captain Rilee Rossouw might drop struggling off-spinner Usman Tariq from the playing XI to retain his winning combination from last week’s match against Lahore Qalandars.

Jason Roy and Saud Shakeel will continue to open the innings, while skipper Rossouw will bat at number three. Omair Yousuf, Khawaja Nafay, and wicketkeeper Laurie Evan are set to helm the team’s middle order once again during this tournament.

Left-arm spinner Akeal Hosein can bludgeon a few in the death overs, as evidenced by his earlier exploits this PSL 2024 season. 

Mohammad Amir will continue to bowl the powerplay overs and will serve as the team’s primary pace option alongside Mohammad Wasim Jr. The two fast bowlers will be joined by Sohail Khan, who is expected to make a comeback into the playing XI in place of Usman Tariq.
