Quetta Gladiators' West Indies import Akeal Hosein launched Karachi Kings fast bowler Hasan Ali out of the ground in their recent PSL 2024 faceoff in Rawalpindi.

Taking the field for his team in match number 22 of the tournament, Hosein pummeled Hasan Ali way over the midwicket fence for a celestial six, thus evoking many similarities with fellow Caribbean left-hander Chris Gayle.

Quetta Gladiators spinner Akeal Hosein made his way into the crease during the 14th over of the innings after his team slipped to 89-5.

A couple of overs later in the innings, Hosein bumped into Karachi Kings' raging fast bowler Hasan Ali. Remarkably, Ali had conceded just four runs off his prior two-over opening spell, all while accounting for the key Gladiators wickets of Saud Shakeel and Khawaja Nafay.

In a bid to surge up the Gladiators' scoring rate in the slog overs, Hosein picked up Hasan Ali's slower delivery towards off-stump and thwacked it way over the midwicket fence for a massive six, thus evoking many similarities with T20 legend Chris Gayle's iconic stand-and-deliver thumps.

Hasan Ali eventually seized the last laugh in his newfound dual with Akeal Hosein by dismissing the West Indies cricketer during the penultimate over of the innings. Ali ended up claiming astonishing figures of 4-15 from his four-over spell as Quetta Gladiators' entire batting line-up crumbled out for just 118 upfront.

Earlier in the match, Gladiators opener Saud Shakeel scored 33 runs from 28 balls at the top order after Karachi Kings captain Shan Masood put them into bat first.

Besides Hasan Ali, his bowling mates Zahid Mahmood and Blessing Muzarabani also chipped in with crucial wickets in the innings as Karachi Kings hunt for their third win of the PSL 2024 season.
