Shubman Gill fell cheaply in the 1st Test Match vs Bangladesh [X]

India and Bangladesh are playing against each other in the first of the two match Test series at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. 

The pitch at the Chepauk was in discussion for the red-soil used and there talks of the wicket having extra spice. Keeping this in mind, the Bangladesh team chose to field after winning the toss. 

Najmul Shanto won the toss and put India to bat

The call by Najmul Hasan Shanto paid off as Bangladesh struck two early wickets and hand the Indian team in trouble. Rohit Sharma was the first man to go for India. Hasan Mahmud got the better of the India captain with a beautiful delivery shaping away from the batter at the last moment.

Shubman Gill throws away his wicket

The second wicket to fall for India was Shubman Gill. It was expected that the young Indian batter at number three will provide solidity to the innings. Instead Gill was found playing a casual shot to Hasan Mahmud in the eighth over of the innings. 

It was a full delivery by the Bangladeshi pacer at leg stump line. The ball was going away from the batter, but Gill in an attempt to flick the ball ended up getting a faint edge that was caught comfortably by the wicket-keeper, Litton Das.
