In a crucial fixture of the ongoing PSL 2024 season, winless Peshawar Zalmi will clash with undefeated table toppers Multan Sultans on Friday.

The Babar Azam-led side has emerged as the worst team of the ongoing PSL 2024 season. They sit at the bottom of the points table with two back-to-back losses. While the skipper has been contributing to the best of his capacity, the rest of the squad has failed to come through.

Young promising guns like Saim Ayub and Mohammad Haris are yet to find form this year with the bat. Ayub's lacklusterness has specifically put Zalmi on the backfoot as expectations were sky high from the kid.

Besides, Babar Azam is lacking quality bowlers in the lineup. Shamar Joseph, the West Indies' latest fast-bowling sensation, is yet to join the squad despite signed as a replacement for Gus Atinkson.

Besides, Aamer Jamal, the Australian tour hero, is struggling to adapt to the shorter format. On the other hand, Luke Wood has been phenomenal, but the rest of the bowling unit has failed to support them.

That being said, for the upcoming challenging game against the Sultans, a big boost is coming in for Peshawar Zalmi in the form of Naveen-Ul-Haq. The Afghanistan pacer finished his national duties and is all set to land in Pakistan today.

Naveen-Ul-Haq was terrific during the recently concluded SA20 season for the Durban Super Giants. He clipped crucial wickets with clinical economy. His addition will inject new life into this dispirited Zalmi squad.

However, to accommodate Naveen, UAE pacer Waqar Salamkheil will have to make the ultimate sacrifice. Due to the overseas rule, only four foreign players are allowed to play at a given time. While Zeeshan has underperformed, he is likely to keep his place for the upcoming fixture against Multan Sultans.
