Washington Freedom were calculative throughout the game. Saurabh Netravalkar and Justin Dill bowled beautifully to chip 3 wickets each. Despite Rashid Khan’s late onslaught, Washington restricted them to a decent total, and skipper Smith took care of the rest of the chase. 

Hence, ahead of the game against Texas Super Kings, Washington Freedom are expected to start as favourites.

Texas Super Kings

On the other hand, the Texas Super Kings had a nightmarish start to the MLC 2024 season with a 12-run defeat against the Los Angeles Knight Riders. They bowled well to restrict Sunil Narine’s side to 162 runs.

However, Super Kings failed to convert Devon Conway’s 53 (39) start to suffer an unnecessary collapse. Ali Khan took four wickets to grab the player of the match award.

That being said, to overpower Washington Freedom, the Super Kings have to take responsibility with the bat, especially captain Faf du Plessis Marcus Stoining and Aaron Hardie must play anchor roles, which will boost the confidence of the openers for the rest of the tournament.

Other than that, Texas Super Kings is a well balanced side capable of making a long run into the tournament.
