Rashid Khan made headlines yet again on Sunday while representing MI New York during their Major League Cricket (MLC) 2024 fixture against Washington Freedom at Church Street Park, Morrisville.

However, the Afghanistan sensation, this time around, hogged the limelight due to his batting heroics, and it was Marco Jansen who was at the receiving end.

In his entertaining 15-ball 31 run knock, Rashid smashed three sixes on the bounce during the 18th over of Mumbai's innings. Two of his sixes were over deep mid-wicket, while one was over long-on for a half-of-dozen.

To make matters worse for Jansen, Rashid smashed a four off the last ball, making it a 23-run over.

However, Rashid's brisk knock went in vain for MI New York, as Washington Freedom defeated them by four runs via DLS method. In reply of MI New York's 154/9, Washington reached 55/1 in 7.4 overs before heavy lightning did not allow any further play.

Despite the defeat, MI New York remained at the top of the points table, as they cruised past Seattle Orcas in the tournament opener.
