The first T20I of the four-match series between South Africa and India is all set to be played on 8th of November at the iconic Kingsmead, Durban. It is a clash between the finalists of the T20 World Cup 2024, and there will be plenty of exciting players on display, looking to make their mark in this series.
For South Africa, this is a chance to get their mojo back in the T20Is after some unfavourable results in the format post the T20 World Cup. They have their big guns, Heinrich Klaasen and David Miller back in the team, and they would fit back straight into the XI. They are likely to bat at number five and six respectively while Ryan Rickelton will open with Reeza Hendricks after some good performance in UAE.
Aiden Markram will bat at 3 and he needs some runs under his belt while Tristan Stubbs would be the player to watch out after his impact performances in the last few series.
South Africa To Go With Pace-Heavy Bowling Attack
Marco Jansen is also back in the mix as he would be the pace-bowling allrounder along with Patrick Kruger while Keshav Maharaj is likely to be the lone spinner in the XI. Gerald Coetzee too is back after a long injury layoff and Mihlali Mpongwana is all set to make his debut as South Africa are bound to go with a pace-heavy attack in their conditions against a visiting Indian team.
They have an option of Andile Simelane too, but Mihlali Mpongwana is likely to get a go in the first game. Overall, it would be interesting to see how South Africa go about their business in home conditions against a Suryakumar-led T20I unit that has not lost a single single T20I series after the World Cup.
