India are slated to travel to the rainbow nation for the four-match T20I series and with just more than a week ahead of the first game, South Africa have announced a strong 16-member squad. The big players like David Miller and Heinrich Klaasen are back in the squad after missing the T20I series against West Indies and Ireland while Kagiso Rabada has been rested to manage his workload.

Mihlali Mpongwana Gets His Maiden T20I Call-Up

Aiden Markram will continue to lead the side with popular names like Keshav Maharaj, Marco Jansen and Gerald Coetzee also back in the mix. All-rounder Mihlali Mpongwana has been handed his maiden T20I call-up after he finished as the leading wicket-taker in CSA's T20 challenge with 12 wickets. Andile Simelane is another uncapped player in the squad while Lutho Simpala has been included for the third and fourth T20Is only.

The inclusion of dynamic duo of Miller and Klaasen add more depth in the Proteas batting line-up as they struggled in their absence in the series against West Indies. Reeza Hendricks and Ryan Rickelton are likely to bat at the top of the order while Tristan Stubbs would be a key player as he has been in great form across formats in recent times.

The squad is set to assemble in Durban on November 4th while the players who are currently playing Test matches in Bangladesh will join the squad on 6th November. The first T20I will be played in Kingsmead Durban with visitors India coming into the series on the back of a thumping win against Bangladesh in their last assignment in the format.
