The Gujarat Titans have had a fascinating IPL journey so far. They won the title in 2022 under the leadership of Hardik Pandya, and reached the finals in 2023, where they lost to MS Dhoni's CSK. However, with Hardik's departure, their team crumbled as they failed to reach the playoffs in 2024.

Ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction, they have retained, captain Shubman Gill, Rashid Khan, Shahrukh Khan, Rahul Tewatia and Sai Sudharsan. As a result, they now have 69 crores to spend in the upcoming mega auction, scheduled for November 24, 25.

They have retained their Indian core, but to win the title, the team also needs quality overseas stars. Hence, in this article we look at 3 players the Titans can target in the mega auction.

3) Trent Boult

Why GT should target Boult?

Rajasthan Royals made quite a few baffling decisions in the retention list and one of them was to exclude Trent Boult from the side. The former MI and RR pacer is known for his powerplay exploits and buying him will solve GT's pace bowling woes.

Last season, GT suffered a dip in form because they never had a quality fast bowler in their ranks. This season, their priority should be to get someone like Boult, who is effective in both the powerplay and slog overs. Plus, unlike some other pacers, he will be less expensive because of his age.

2) Marcus Stoinis

Why Stoinis is a perfect fit for GT?

Ever since Hardik Pandya left for Mumbai Indians, GT have not been able to replace him in their side. Stoinis could be the answer to their problems. He is a like-to-like replacement for Hardik, as he excels in all three departments of the game.

He can be an explosive finisher, something which GT lacked last season. Plus, Stoinis' ability to pick wickets out of nowhere will be useful for the Gujarat based side.

1) Quinton de Kock

Why GT should go after QDK?

Quinton de Kock is the perfect choice for the keepers' position with the Titans. He has done extremely well for Mumbai Indians and Lucknow Super Giants, and has the IPL experience under his belt.

Last season wasn't his best by any means, and hence, he won't be that expensive in the auction. De Kock could be a steal buy as the Titans need a solid and aggressive opening partner for captain Shubman Gill. GT's problem has been that both Saha and Gill are not naturally aggressive players. Hence, they struggled to score at a rapid rate. As a result, they should target an aggressive keeper-batter at the top.
