Ahead of the much-awaited Border Gavaskar Trophy kicks off in Australia, Indian stalwart Virat Kohli took to social media with a post that had fans doing double-takes. While many expected updates on the big series, Kohli dropped a bombshell – but it wasn’t exactly what everyone thought.
Virat Kohli’s Cryptic Message Shocks Fans Before BGT Opener
The Indian cricket superstar announced the ten-year anniversary of his apparel brand, Wrogn, in a way that initially left fans stunned and confused.
Virat Kohli’s message, posted early on Wednesday, took an emotional and almost cryptic approach.
"Looking back, we've always been a bit different. We never fitted into any box they tried putting us in," he wrote, speaking as though he were hinting at something personal or career-related.
The mention of “two misfits” and “doing things our way” left fans guessing if he was hinting at a big personal change. But, just as fans were starting to worry, Kohli cleared the air with a tribute to Wrogn’s journey.
“Here’s to ten years of doing it our way – the Wrogn way. Here’s to being Wrogn. And here’s to the next ten! Wrogn, for the right kind of man," he concluded, finally bringing smiles to everyone’s faces.
Kohli has been involved with Wrogn right from the start, co-creating the brand with Anjana and Vikram Reddy. Over the past ten years, Wrogn has become a big name in men’s fashion, offering styles that are bold, edgy, and, well, different.
For Kohli, who has always loved standing out, it’s no surprise that he’s been the perfect fit for the brand’s message. This ten-year milestone is a huge moment for him and Wrogn, but the dramatic post had some fans jokingly telling him to tone down the suspense.
Kohli’s Upcoming Challenge in Australia
While Kohli celebrated his brand’s anniversary, fans couldn’t ignore the real task ahead – the Border Gavaskar Trophy against Australia. Kohli’s recent form in Tests has been a bit of a rollercoaster. From 2016 to 2019, he was unstoppable, averaging over 55 each year in Tests. However, post 2019, Kohli’s Test form has been a sorry state of affairs.
With the first Test in Perth kicking off on Friday, all eyes will be on Kohli as he looks to silence his critics and show the world why he’s still one of the game’s greats
