The IPL retention date is over and all the ten teams have finalised their retention list as the mega auction approaches nearby. Some franchises did an excellent job, while others made baffling decisions as teams now look to build a strong core.

One of the franchises who did a brilliant job in the auction was the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). The franchise retained three key players in Virat Kohli, Rajat Patidar and Yash Dayal and will now look to build a strong team from here on.

The team has ample amount of money left as they can try and identify three key former players to draft back in the side during the mega auction.

3) Washington Sundar

RCB need a quality spinner in their side and Washington Sundar can fill that void. The Tamil Nadu spinner played for the franchise between 2018-21, and picked up 19 wickets in 32 matches.

Since leaving RCB, he has honed his skills and can be a valuable asset in the side. Plus, Sundar is an exceptional batter and can also contribute with the willow, making him a great player.

2) Yuzvendra Chahal

The homecoming of a hero is what everyone is dreaming about. Chahal is RCB's leading wicket-taker with 139 dismissals in 113 matches. His ability to deliver on a smaller ground like the Chinnaswamy stadium made him a fan favourite, but RCB somehow surprised everyone by not retaining him during the auctions in 2022.

However, they have the chance to rectify that mistake. Since Chahal left, RCB have not found a proper replacement, and maybe there was no proper replacement available. Hence, with Chahal available, RCB should go all out on him.

1) KL Rahul

The return of the hometown hero. KL Rahul knows the Chinnaswamy at the back of his hands and could be a great option as RCB need a keeper, as well as a captain.

Across two seasons for the franchise, KL Rahul accumulated 417 runs in 19 matches, but was released in 2018 as he joined Punjab Kings.

He was released by the Lucknow Super Giants during the retention date, and RCB will be a perfect homecoming for KL Rahul as he has some unfinished business left.
