New Zealand have created history in India by whitewashing the home team by 3-0 margin. They have beaten India by 25 runs in the third Test at the Wankhede, as Indian batters have once again been found out against quality spin. It is one of the greatest moment in the history of New Zealand cricket and naturally they were overjoyed after the victory as Indian players looked completely dejected.
India needed 147 to win the final Test and they would have backed themselves to chase the target. However, they started off on a horrible note and were reduced to 29-5 in no time. Rishabh Pant though displayed his class and almost single-handedly kept India in the game with his 64 off 57 balls. However, rest of the batters just could not handle the spin that was on offer and India were eventually bowled out for 121.
New Zealand Create History In India
Ajaz Patel picked six wickets and completed the Test with 11 wickets and he was the one who also got the last wicket of Washington Sundar. Glenn Phillips also bowled well and picked three wickets and New Zealand have become just the third team after West Indies and England to beat India in three consecutive Test matches at home.
The last India were whitewashed at home was in 2000 by South Africa in a two-match series and Rohit Sharma and co. have reached a new loss with a dismal performance. Will Young has been named as the Player of the series while Ajaz Patel grabbed the player of the match as he completed another memorable performance at the Wankhede.
