Islamabad United slumped to an eight-run defeat at the hands of Peshawar Zalmi in their latest PSL 2024 outing in Lahore.

This defeat marked their third in succession this season as they slipped to number five on the PSL 2024 points table.

In a bid to climb up the charts, Shadab Khan and co. will now face Karachi Kings to launch the Karachi leg of the tournament on February 28. Ahead of their much-awaited contest, here is a look at the probable playing XI of the Islamabad United team.

Islamabad United's probable XI vs Karachi Kings

Luck might well have run out for struggling all-rounder Imad Wasim, considering his recent struggles with both bat and ball this PSL 2024 season. So far, in his four outings for Islamabad United, the 35-year-old has only managed to take one wicket, scoring just ten runs across three innings.

One can expect captain Shadab Khan to replace Imad Wasim with 21-year-old spin-bowling all-rounder Qasim Akram. The youngster holds an impressive track record in T20s and recently took the field for Lahore Region Blues in the National T20 Cup.

Shadab Khan might retain the remaining ten members for the match against Karachi Kings. Overseas stars Jordan Cox and Colin Munro will open the innings, with captain Shadab himself helming the number three position.

Agha Salman, wicketkeeper Azam Khan, Haider Ali and all-rounders Qasim Akram and Faheem Ashraf will be expected to constitute Islamabad United's middle and lower order.

Brothers Naseem Shah, Hunain Shah, and English speedster Tymal Mills will helm the fast-bowling department.
